The MEGSA Cone Technique

The function of the cone is to improve the takeaway and downswing plane of the club head and shaft.  The cone provides the necessary feedback when a player takes the club back too far inside on the takeaway as they will bump into it with the club head.  On the downswing the cone provides the same kind of feedback if the player's shaft angle is too steep or over the top.  If the shaft angle is shallow and on-plane coming down, the club head will not contact the cone and allows for the player to strike the ball uninterrupted.
